Simply put: through repetition. Our LLM is trained in stages. For pre-training, we access billions of documents and use them to train language models specifically geared to translation. Subsequent customisation occurs as the model learns to adapt translations based on style guides and terminology lists, as well as information on corporate language, locale and tone of voice.
In contrast to NMT-based models, LLMs can be adapted in near real-time with this approach. Terminology can be updated immediately and automatically flow into the next translation.

The standard version is trained on a wide range of data. This allows the model to understand and process all kinds of non-specialist texts. To customise the model to your style and wording, it requires the company-specific texts – glossaries and style guides in the light version, and your existing professional translations in the fully customised version.
For AI translations, we currently allow files of up to a maximum of 1 million characters in the source language. The file formats and sizes allowed depend on your subscription. For all the details, please see our subscription overview.

Verification is a fast and cost-effective solution that focuses on the accuracy of both content and language. With each order, we ensure that ...
... the content of the translation is complete and all information is conveyed correctly;
... the text is 100% understandable;
... spelling, grammar, sentence structure and punctuation are correct;
... the formatting of numbers, dates, etc. is consistent within the text.
On the other hand, the service does not (for the time being) include...
... stylistic improvements (e.g. puns, metaphors, etc.);

The service is therefore intended for texts that simply need to be 100% understandable and correct. For subject-specific or creative texts, we recommend our more comprehensive specialised translation services.
Verification is designed for text entered directly into the online translation interface, up to a maximum of 3,000 characters (in the source language). For longer texts or documents, please contact our specialised translation service – where turnaround times start at six hours.

A Verification is available in as little as 8 minutes, depending on the text. For larger orders for specialised translation, copywriting or editing, you can choose between express (6 hours), 24 hours, 48 hours, 3 days and 1 week.

We work exclusively with language professionals with sector-specific experience, who are all native speakers of their target language and have been tested by Supertext. If you place orders on a regular basis, we try to use the same experts as much as possible. For large volumes, we are happy to put together dedicated language teams for you upon request. This depends on your source text – and what you want to achieve with it. The simplest way to obtain objectively error-free writing is to have a professional proofreader correct spelling and grammar. The two-phase proofreading service gives you twice the peace of mind thanks to a second specialist check. For texts that need to be stylistically appealing as well as accurate, choose editing, which checks for stylistic subtleties. The most comprehensive service is rewriting – here, a trained copywriter edits and optimises everything from the structure to the style.

Customisation (glossaries, ...)
Of course – you can save a separate glossary for any desired language combination. Then all you need to do is activate the relevant glossary when translating, and it will be taken into account in the output.
You can create an unlimited number of glossaries for any desired language combination. Our professional services also allow users to upload separate glossaries on request.
Personal glossary After logging in, you can create and manage your own glossary directly in our AI translator. Simply create an entry with the term in the source language and the preferred translation and your selection will flow into every translation (whether in the browser, via API or with one of our plugins).
Team glossary As an admin, you can also create team glossaries in your cockpit’s Customisation Hub. These apply for all users in your team to ensure uniform corporate language across all channels.
Please note: the glossary function is available to all users with the Advance subscription or higher.
With a glossary, you decide how Supertext should translate individual words and phrases. We scan the source text for terms in the glossary and automatically replace any detected matches with the saved target translation – regardless of the context.
This is done specifically for the selected language pair and in real time. Your glossary has highest priority and overrides the automatically generated translation.

All our systems meet the highest security standards and are hosted exclusively in Switzerland. Our text and translation processes are certified according to ISO 27001 – from single sign-on and two-factor authentication to a specially protected workflow for confidential documents. That depends on you: with each of our subscriptions, your source and target texts are always deleted immediately after the translation. Text entered by Supertext Free users (without a subscription) may be used further improve our language models.
In all cases, your translation data will always be transmitted in encrypted form and processed exclusively on the most secure Swiss servers.

Only the language professionals who actually need access to complete the order (on a need-to-know’ basis).
For highly sensitive content (e.g. investor notifications, highly confidential contracts, etc.), you can take our patented secure workflow one (big) step further:
– Choose between four confidentiality levels for each order – from “Public” to “Strictly confidential”.
- “Confidential” and “Strictly confidential” documents run via a protected VPN infrastructure with a secure terminal server – a virtual, temporary high-security room.
- Only verified translators who have undergone a security check work on the text, and their access rights are limited (e.g. no copy-paste functionality, no printing, no web access, fixed geographical location)
- Delivery takes place via secure server, without local storage or data export.
- After the project is completed, the entire environment is deleted. It is then set up anew for the next order.

API

With our API, you can seamlessly integrate AI translation and automatic language recognition into your website and programs. The HTTP interface lets you translate in real time directly in your core systems – from CMS to PIM to TMS – and scale your workflows to suit your needs.
For all content (free text and files) from any third-party system that you want to translate securely and in line with brand requirements. There are a wide range of possible use cases:
– Automatically localise your e-commerce shop – Localise websites and apps in real time – Set up multilingual customer support – Improve internal and external communication – Have particularly important translations verified by professionals – Integrate translation as a feature into your own software – and many more.
Of course: the Supertext API runs via a separate monthly subscription. This can also be combined with our online translator subscriptions, if desired.
You can easily generate API keys in your cockpit. Simply log in, create and copy the keys, embed them in your desired software and off you go.
Our API’s monthly base fee is CHF/EUR 4.90. There are also usage-based costs of CHF/EUR 20 per million characters, which are also billed monthly. As an admin, you can track API usage, including current costs and translated characters, at any time in the cockpit.
Verifications via API are billed separately. You can check the exact price of every order in advance using the API.
In the cockpit, admins can view, copy, add a comment on, delete or add new API keys.
Once you have signed up for a subscription, it takes less than five minutes to get started:
- Create an API key in your cockpit
- Use the key to embed the API into the code of your website or program
- Specify usage limits and users if necessary
- Done. You can use our translation and language recognition capabilities directly in any system environment.

MCP
Supertext Translation MCP is based on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard introduced by Anthropic that provides a universal adapter between AI applications and external data sources through a standardised interface.
Our translation MCP server allows AI assistants to seamlessly access Supertext’s specialised language models while maintaining a consistent, secure communication protocol. That way, you can combine the strengths of multiple systems, receiving highest-quality translations from your (customised) Supertext system right inside the AI tools you’re using every day.
Access to our MCP server is granted to all Supertext users with an Advanced, Pro or Enterprise licence. Check out our subscriptions for more details.
That depends on your Supertext subscription level and the AI tool you want to connect Supertext to.
For teams on Supertext Advanced, each user connects the respective AI agent individually using OAuth 2.1. Head over to the cockpit to find our handy step-by-step instructions to connect the most common AI systems.
For organisations on Supertext Enterprise, admins can centrally connect and manage most external AI tools for their entire team. You can find detailed instructions in your cockpit.
Once installed, some AI systems require you to explicitly prompt them to “Translate using Supertext” or “@Supertext” to connect to our server; others will automatically route any translation request to Supertext.

Any translation request sent via MCP is handled with the same enterprise-grade security standards we use across our systems. Supertext exclusively hosts its systems on secure Swiss servers, is ISO-certified for information security and 100% compliant with GDPR and FADP.
Please keep in mind that any third-party connection (through MCP or other means) potentially imposes additional vulnerabilities. Supertext is not responsible for the data handling of any third-party system you connect to our servers.
